Amazon: Committed To Contributing and Benefiting Communities

Since 2011, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has invested more than $39.2 billion in building, operating, and maintaining its data centers in eastern Oregon.

This massive investment has generated approximately $11.8 billion in local GDP and supports over 8,300 full-time equivalent jobs annually, boosting the region’s economic health and stability.

Beyond infrastructure, Amazon’s presence has enhanced community development.

In 2024 alone, AWS paid $54.2 million in property taxes and fees in eastern Oregon, funding schools, emergency services, and other local priorities.

The company also supports education and workforce training programs, including data center technician certification and fiber-optic training, creating meaningful career pathways through partnerships with local colleges.
