Anthropic has unveiled Claude for Chrome, its new browser extension designed to bring Claude’s AI capabilities directly into web browsing.
The first release is limited to a research preview for 1,000 users on the Max plan.
With this tool, Claude can read and interact with web pages, summarize content, and even perform actions within Chrome itself, making browsing more efficient and context-aware.
By starting with a small research group, Anthropic says it wants to gather feedback and refine how Claude integrates into real-world browsing workflows.
The company has not yet announced when Claude for Chrome will roll out more widely, but this first step signals its aim to make Claude a standalone chatbot and a hands-on assistant across everyday tools like browsers.
