Anthropic Introduced Claude Sonnet 4.5

Anthropic has released Claude Sonnet 4.5, describing it as the strongest coding model in the world and a major leap forward in reasoning, mathematics, and computer use.

The model outperforms competitors on SWE-bench Verified and OSWorld benchmarks, showing the ability to focus on complex, multi-step tasks for more than 30 hours.

Alongside the release, Claude Code gains long-requested features like checkpoints, a native VS Code extension, and context editing tools.

The Claude apps now support code execution and file creation for spreadsheets, slides, and documents, while Max users can access the new Claude for Chrome extension.

For developers, Anthropic is introducing the Claude Agent SDK, the same infrastructure that powers Claude Code, enabling anyone to build advanced AI agents.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 also enhances alignment and safety, reducing risks such as sycophancy, deception, and prompt injection, while being deployed under AI Safety Level 3 safeguards.

Additionally, Anthropic is previewing “Imagine with Claude,” a short-term experiment where the model generates software in real-time.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 is now available across apps, APIs, and developer platforms at the same price as Sonnet 4.
