Anthropic Introduces Plugin Support For Claude Code

Anthropic has announced that Claude Code now supports plugins, little packages with slash commands, agents, MCP servers, and hooks, so developers can tailor and share configurations.

People can now install or deactivate plugins on the fly with the new /plugin command, making it easier to set up Claude Code for specific workflows or team environments.

Plugins accommodate an enormous range of use cases, ranging from applying coding standards and DevOps pipeline automation to pipelining internal tools and creating subagents for targeted tasks.

Plugins can even be hosted and shared on plugin marketplaces, where pre-configured configurations are provided with curated sets to help find and install them.

The feature is currently in public beta across all users of Claude Code both on the terminal and VS Code.
