  • LinkedIn added labels to AI-generated content, meaning now the audience will know your image or article was generated with AI. We can only imagine that Meta/FB and YouTube are next…

  • Meta encourages users to use Threads more actively. They are even offering a $5,000 reward to big influencers who post more content on Threads.

  • Meta introduced a feature that summarizes the most common comments under posts; it is labeled “What people are saying.”

  • TikTok is now testing a feature that will allow you to tag collaborators in your content. Oh, and they are also considering allowing one-hour videos on the platform. Hmm… How do we feel about that?

  • Google launched an AI Essentials course to help people get the most out of its AI features. You can access the course here.

  • Vavoza added a “News & Trends” section to Vavoza Insider to keep our subscribers up to date with the ever-evolving marketing world!

Here’s what else is new at Vavoza:

    • We have increased our VIP Lifetime membership price to $990 and stopped offering VIP Monthly plans to new subscribers. If you are on a Monthly plan, you are grandfathered in but consider upgrading – reach out to us for a special upgrade offer!

    • With the newly increased VIP Lifetime cost, our affiliates can now earn up to $495 per sale by recommending others join Vavoza Insider Plus! (You must be a Pro-level or Lifetime Member of Vavoza Insider Plus to access our exclusive affiliate program.)

    • We are looking to hire a full-time Social Media Manager at our agency to manage our clients’ YouTube and social media accounts and help them grow organically. Ideally, we want someone local (from Sioux Falls, SD) to work from our HQ. If you think you may be a good fit, apply here today.

    • We have been experimenting with delivering our newsletters on different days of the week. We are leaning towards sending Vavoza Insider on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays and sending Vavoza Insider Plus later in the week (Thu-Sat) instead of Tuesdays.

And now, let’s get back to today’s subject… 👇

Social Media Management

Why Manage Social Media?

Social media management is crucial for brand awareness and reach – a top-of-the-funnel marketing objective. It involves creating content, engaging with audiences, staying on top of trends, using analytics, and scheduling.

Those who do not take social media management seriously and without a strategic approach risk missing out on increased website traffic, improved customer engagement, customer-brand loyalty, and more sales.

Here’s when social media really matters:

As you scale your paid ad campaigns, costs tend to increase significantly. At high scale, the game is all about offsetting acquisition costs. Meaning, you start to care much more about lowering the cost to acquire new leads and customers without decreasing the volume.

It goes without saying that one of the best ways to lower your cost of acquiring new leads and customers (holistically) is to reach and convert new customers organically (for free)

However, you must build up your online presence over time to do so effectively, so you may want to start managing your social media long before you reach high scale.

Pro Tips For Social Media Management:

  • Have A Plan: What are your end goals? Are you looking to increase organic traffic on your website or improve your customer retention rate? Perhaps you are just starting out, and any improved metric would be good to see. Remember, regardless of what your goals are, they need to be S.M.A.R.T. – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely.

  • Know Your Audience: This one is a constant amongst all stages of your marketing journey. Your audience is the ultimate judge of where and how far you get with your product or service (if anywhere at all), so knowing who your target audience is and what they want from you is necessary to be successful.

  • Follow Trends: Staying relevant means staying on top of your goals, search engines, and consumers’ minds. The social media channels you use, the topics you speak about, and the values you promote all affect your end results. Not only should your content be relevant, but the way you present it should be, too.

Keep in mind that trends can be a delicate subject, so it’s important to balance what is trending and what makes your brand and products unique. Not every trend will apply to you, and you will not apply to every trend…

  • Analyze Your Channels: Whether you are new to the game or have been a player for a while, it is important to always analyze the performance of your content and ads on your social media channels. Technologies, social media, and people are constantly evolving, which means there is no guarantee that something that worked yesterday will work in two weeks.

For instance, many marketers know that getting more comments on their Facebook posts boosts their reach, so they ask people to “leave a comment” on their posts. However, did you know that asking people to comment actually has the opposite effect? Facebook caught onto this a while ago, and its algorithm penalizes posts that attempt to induce engagement.

Constantly analyze your channels. If you see a decline in your reach and engagement rate, figure out what is causing it and stop doing it. Similarly, if something works well, double down on it!

  • Post Consistently: If you are using social media to grow your business, posting relevant content consistently is an absolute must. Every single major social media platform today prioritizes channels and pages that post relevant and engaging content consistently.

Social media platforms want you to post 3-5 times a day, especially if you’re posting short-form content like Reels, TikToks, and Shorts or posting on X / Twitter or Threads.

Now, we know firsthand that it is much easier said than done; it takes a lot of time and mental energy to produce and post creative content daily, but that’s what the platforms want, and we are simply telling you like it is (please don’t shoot the messenger…lol).

  • Automate: With the number of social media channels available today, it can be overwhelming to keep up with them manually. Of course, you could dedicate a day or two to posting, engaging with your audience, and researching trends, or you could hire a professional to do it all for you, but why not automate some or most of the processes?

Use a social media management tool like Buffer or Hootsuite to make your life easier. Buffer offers a free plan, and Hootsuite offers a free trial – check ‘em out!
