Cash App Launched Pools For Group Payments

Cash App’s latest trick, Pools, dropped and it’s a game-changer for group expenses.
You set up a pool right in the app’s payment tab, pick a goal amount, and send invites through a $cashtag or a link that works with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
That means friends without Cash App can chip in without missing a beat, cutting out the chaos of juggling different apps. It’s rolling out to a small crowd first but will soon hit all 57 million monthly users, making it a breeze to rally funds together.
The old way, someone pays upfront and hunts down repayments, is a headache Pools aims to fix.
Cash App found 60% of U.S. adults pool cash for group stuff, and half already use their platform.
You can watch contributions roll in live, shut the pool whenever, and move the money to your balance for instant use.
Crafted with Block’s AI tool Goose, this feature takes a swing at rivals like Venmo, which posted a 20% revenue jump in Q2 2025.
