Claude has rolled out a major upgrade: the ability to create and edit files directly inside Claude.ai and the desktop app.
Available now in preview for Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with Pro access coming soon, this feature allows users to generate Excel spreadsheets, Word-style documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDFs.
Simply by describing their needs or uploading data.
Instead of only receiving text responses, Claude can now return ready-to-use files for tasks like data analysis, financial models, sales forecasting, project tracking, or cross-format conversions.
Powered by a private computer environment that lets Claude run code and process instructions, the feature transforms the chatbot from an advisor into an active collaborator.
Users can clean raw data, build dashboards, convert PDFs into slide decks, or even automate budget templates, all with working formulas and structured layouts.
By combining natural language instructions with file generation, Claude shortens the gap between idea and execution, making sophisticated projects accessible without technical expertise.
