The second feature is a “temporary chat” mode.

When you start a temporary chat, Gemini won’t save the conversation history.
The information is deleted after the chat ends, so you don’t have to worry about your private conversations being saved.
This gives people a simple way to have a quick, private talk with the AI without any of the information being stored, which is great for things you don’t want to keep a record of.
