Meta has entered a joint venture with Blue Owl Capital-managed funds to finance and host the Hyperion data center campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana.
The $27 billion partnership will help speed up Meta’s ability to deliver the infrastructure needed to support its growing AI ecosystem.
Blue Owl owns an 80% interest in the venture, while Meta owns a 20% interest and provides construction and property management services.
The venture combines Meta’s 15 years of expertise in constructing data centers and Blue Owl’s digital infrastructure investment capabilities, aiming to deliver speed, flexibility, and scale to mission-critical AI endeavors.
This collaboration is a “bold step forward” for Meta’s vision around AI, Meta CFO Susan Li stated. Construction on the Hyperion campus is already underway, with thousands of workers on the ground and expected to generate over 500 operating positions upon completion.
The initiative demonstrates Meta’s deep, long-term commitment to AI innovation, growth of digital infrastructure, and building out a community in Louisiana.
