Microsoft Adds Copilot Mode To Edge: Making Browsing Smarter

Microsoft Edge is receiving a massive upgrade with the launch of Copilot Mode, a built-in AI assistant that transforms the way people browse the internet.

No more searching, typing, and switching between multiple tabs, though.

Now users can just talk to their browser, summarize, and accomplish things with multi-step operations such as planning dinner or trip planning, all on Edge.

Copilot Mode keeps track of where users left off with tools like Journeys, which sorts previous browsing sessions into helpful topics automatically.

It can summarize open tabs, access information faster, and even use browsing history, with permission, to offer better suggestions.

Users can also perform Copilot Actions through voice or chat, such as opening a web page, opting out of newsletters, or booking a restaurant.

Microsoft explains that privacy is also a key concern, with users having full control of whether Copilot Mode is on and what it can see.

Edge also includes additional protection features, such as scareware protection and password managers, to enhance security.

Copilot Mode is available on all Copilot markets for Windows and Mac, with mobile to follow soon.
