The NATO Communications and Information Agency has chosen Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to modernize and secure its mission-critical technology systems.

Announced in London on September 11, 2025, the move will see NCIA transition its on-premises workloads to OCI with support from Red Reply, Shield Reply, and prime contractor Thales.

The upgrade aims to leverage OCI’s sovereign cloud capabilities, advanced AI innovations, and enterprise-grade security to strengthen NATO’s communications and cyber defense operations.

As NATO’s technology and cyber hub, NCIA provides secure and interoperable communication systems to the Alliance.

By adopting Oracle’s distributed cloud solutions, NCIA will meet strict requirements for data residency and operational control while ensuring resilience and performance across its infrastructure.

Oracle partners Red Reply and Shield Reply will oversee migrating three legacy data centers to OCI, while Thales and Proximus will deliver end-to-end security and networking integration.

According to Oracle, OCI will enable NCIA to better manage, analyze, and protect sensitive data while providing more control over workloads and storage.

The move underscores NATO’s commitment to digital transformation and reflects Oracle’s growing role in delivering sovereign, AI-optimized cloud services to governments and defense organizations worldwide.
