Nvidia Resumes H20 Chip Sales to China After U.S. Talks

Following high-level discussions with President Donald Trump and U.S. officials, Nvidia has gained clearance to resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China, a move aimed at reinforcing U.S. leadership in AI while tapping into China’s vibrant market.

CEO Jensen Huang, speaking at the China International Supply Chain Expo, highlighted China’s role as home to half the world’s AI researchers, emphasizing the need for American companies to compete in this innovative hub to drive global AI advancements.

To further strengthen its presence, Nvidia unveiled plans for the RTX PRO GPU, an export-compliant chip tailored for China’s smart factories and logistics sectors.

Huang underscored Nvidia’s commitment to open-source AI research, ensuring that “every civil model runs best on the U.S. technology stack,” fostering innovation while aligning with U.S. strategic interests in the global AI race.
