OpenAI announced progress in its collaboration with the US Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) and the UK AI Security Institute (AISI) to strengthen the security of AI systems.

These partnerships, part of OpenAI’s mission to ensure safe and useful AI, focus on joint evaluations, red-teaming, and rapid response to vulnerabilities.

By working directly with national security and research experts, OpenAI has identified and fixed critical issues in real-world systems while advancing best practices for responsible AI deployment.

In collaboration with CAISI, OpenAI tested the security of its agentic AI systems, including ChatGPT Agent, uncovering vulnerabilities that combined traditional software exploits with AI-specific weaknesses.

These issues were resolved within a day, underscoring the value of cross-disciplinary testing.

Meanwhile, UK AISI conducted extensive red-teaming of OpenAI’s safeguards against biological misuse, helping to improve robustness in systems like GPT-5 and ChatGPT Agent.

Through iterative testing, OpenAI refined moderation tools, strengthened monitoring, and introduced product-level fixes that enhance protection against malicious use.
