OpenAI has launched the Expert Council on Well-being and AI.
This eight-member advisory board will help guide the evolution of ChatGPT and Sora to support mental health, emotional well-being, and responsible technology usage.
The council comprises psychologists, psychiatrists, cognitive scientists, and human-computer interaction specialists with decades of research experience in understanding the impact of technology on behavior and well-being.
Their goal is to help set what healthy, age-appropriate interactions with AI should be.
Some of the members include researchers and clinicians in institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Northwestern University.
They will meet with OpenAI teams periodically to review current features, discuss sensitive use cases, and provide suggestions on steps that can lead to positive results.
This effort builds on the continued partnership between OpenAI and the Global Physician Network to ensure that ChatGPT’s responses and actions align with clinical and ethical standards.
Together, these efforts will make AI a more compassionate, responsible, and helpful technology for users of all ages.
