Recession-proof skills that pay the bills
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of skills that one can learn, master, and deploy to pay the bills! One of the more essential skills is the power of self-awareness. Think about all your skill sets and attributes, and be self-aware as you assess yourself at the beginning of each week and ask yourself, “Hey, am I where I want to be?” What are skill sets and attributes that you know are lacking at this moment in time? How would you rate your focus? How would you rate your communication skills? Your speaking ability? And then, how would you rate your negotiation ability? Those four, in particular, have a significant impact on the cash flow of your business!
Online Marketing is changing rapidly. We know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here to stay.
I found myself listening to a song on YouTube that I know is AI-generated. And I liked the song and had it on repeat, at first to find its flaws, only to vibe to it!
And what does that mean? What are the implications?
It means that sooner rather than later, things created 100% by AI will be consumed by people regularly from cartoons, tv shows, movies, music, etc. It’s inevitable, and in fact, it’s already here as Universal Music Group just filed an injunction to have an AI “Drake” featuring “The Weekend” song called “Heart on My Sleeve” removed from all monetizable platforms.
AI will soon replace actors, bring singers from the dead, and be your virtual interactive teacher somewhere! Imagine allowing your kids to watch actors or characters on TV that don’t go in real life and do crazy things like get busted by TMZ.
What things can you start to do that AI will never be able to do?
Here’s a clue: I mentioned a few very early in this newsletter. Those are the skills that are going to get you paid, and they’re going to pay handsomely in the future!
Pro Tips:
- Communicate on an empathetic personal level: Practicing active listening and genuinely understanding the needs, feelings, and concerns of your audience, live or virtual, online and off. This can be achieved by knowing your topic inside and out through thorough research, engaging in conversations on social media or in person, and being receptive to feedback. By addressing the audience’s pain points, desires, and aspirations with authenticity and compassion, you can create meaningful super-connections and craft messages that resonate deeply; it’s a vibe!
- Focus Creatively: Set aside dedicated time for uninterrupted creative brainstorming so you can unlock your idea machine! Avoid distractions, take 20-minute walk breaks to recharge, and use brainstorming methods like mind mapping. Freewriting is also great at fostering an open mindset, so you can unleash your creative potential and generate innovative ideas to crush your subsequent campaigns creatively.
- Speak compellingly: Using storytelling techniques to craft compelling messages as humans connect most with stories. Make sure the story incorporates relatable characters, conflict, and resolution. A well-told story can captivate the audience’s attention, invoke empathy, and persuade them to take action.
- Negotiate in real-time: Full circle moments by practicing active listening and adapting your communication style. You have to be fully present in these conversations, especially! A great book on this subject is called “Negotiate This!” by Herb Cohen.
