Tesla Completes First Autonomous Car Delivery

On June 27, 2025, Tesla achieved the world’s first autonomous delivered car, with a vehicle navigating 30 minutes from its Gigafactory in Texas to a customer’s residence without human intervention.

The delivery, documented in a YouTube video, utilized Tesla’s AI-driven full self-driving technology to traverse parking lots, highways, and city streets.

Elon Musk highlighted the milestone as a result of a decade of AI and software development, relying solely on vision-based systems without lidar or pre-mapped routes.

The event, widely discussed on X, underscores Tesla’s lead in autonomous driving technology and its potential for future robotaxi applications.

However, regulatory and safety challenges for fully autonomous systems remain under scrutiny. This delivery sets a new standard for the automotive industry, demonstrating the feasibility of self-driving vehicles completing complex real-world tasks.
