WhatsApp is rolling out message translations to make it easier for users to communicate across languages.
With this new feature, you can long-press any message, tap Translate, and instantly view it in your preferred language.
The option works across 1:1 chats, group conversations, and Channel updates.
Android users will also have the ability to enable automatic translations for entire chat threads, ensuring all incoming messages appear in their chosen language.
To protect privacy, all translations occur directly on the device, meaning WhatsApp cannot access or store your messages.
The rollout begins today with translations available in six languages for Android, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic.
iPhone users will have access to 19+ languages at launch, with more to follow in future updates.
By breaking down language barriers, WhatsApp aims to help its 3 billion users across 180 countries connect more deeply and seamlessly.
