Meta Launched A Wristband That Controls Computers

Meta’s Reality Labs has introduced a groundbreaking EMG-based wristband that transforms subtle muscle activations into computer commands, no cameras or implants required.
Announced on X, the device captures electromyography signals from the wrist, translating your intent and gestures into actions like cursor movement, clicking, and typing.
Unlike previous gesture-control tools, this wristband works across users without needing personalized calibration.
Meta highlighted its “cutting-edge research turns intent and muscle signals into seamless computer control,” making it a highly intuitive interface for tasks like pointing and typing.
This advancement could pave the way for hands-free computing in AR/VR environments and accessibility use cases, such as controlling devices in noisy settings or assisting individuals with motor disabilities.
