Microsoft Research Asia Launches A Lab In Singapore

Microsoft has launched a new Microsoft Research Asia lab in Singapore, its first in Southeast Asia, to accelerate AI innovation and help transform regional industries.

Backed by the Singapore Economic Development Board, the lab will focus on building AI technologies that address real-world challenges across sectors like healthcare, finance, sustainability, and logistics.

The lab also aims to strengthen the local AI ecosystem by collaborating with institutions like NUS, NTU, and SMU to nurture talent and conduct responsible AI research.

It plays a key role in supporting Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0, marking a significant step in Microsoft’s commitment to AI development in Asia.
