Elon Musk announced that his company, xAI, would pursue legal action against Apple, claiming that the tech giant violated antitrust regulations.
The accusation, made on Musk’s social media platform X, alleges that Apple’s App Store is set up to ” make it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1.”
Despite their high rankings, Musk also questioned why Apple has not featured X or his Grok AI chatbot in its “Must Have” section.
This legal threat is the latest in a series of public clashes between Musk and Apple.
The tensions intensified following Apple’s partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into its products as part of the Apple Intelligence rollout.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has responded to Musk’s claims, calling them “remarkable” and alluding to allegations that Musk manipulates his own platform, X, to benefit his companies and harm competitors.
