Anthropic is moving into universities with two new initiatives to teach AI thoughtfully and safely.
First, they formed a Higher Education Advisory Board led by Rick Levin, former president of Yale and past CEO of Coursera.
Other board members include Rice University, the University of Michigan, UT Austin, Stanford, and Complete College America leaders.
Their role is to help guide Claude, Anthropic’s AI, so that it supports learning and research without hurting academic integrity or student privacy.
Second, Anthropic has co-created three new AI Fluency Courses for educators and students.
These are designed to teach real skills, like using AI tools in teaching, learning, and campus programs.
They were made with input from professors at Ringling College of Art and Design and University College Cork.
The courses are free, released under a Creative Commons license, and can be customized by any university.
