Google is rolling out an enhanced version of Vids, its AI-powered video editing tool.
The new version adds tools like AI avatars, image-to-video generation, and auto-transcript trimming while launching a free consumer version that includes core features.
These upgrades aim to simplify video creation with features like selecting pre-made avatars, turning web images into animated clips, and removing filler words with ease, all without needing professional editing experience.
Previously limited to Google Workspace and AI-plan subscribers, Vids will now let anyone try a basic version at no cost, great for casual users and creators who want to try editing without commitment.
Google’s moves are aimed at making video storytelling faster, more creative, and more accessible, whether you’re powering business presentations or personal projects.
