Meta and the US General Services Administration (GSA) have announced a new partnership integrating Meta’s open-source Llama AI models into the GSA’s OneGov initiative.
This move makes Llama freely available across federal agencies, eliminating the need for individual negotiations while streamlining access to cutting-edge AI.
By providing open-source tools, agencies can build, deploy, and scale AI applications without added licensing costs, delivering significant taxpayer value while maintaining full control over sensitive data.
The initiative supports the objectives of America’s AI Action Plan and recent OMB directives aimed at accelerating federal AI use and procurement efficiency.
With Llama, agencies can test and adapt AI for mission-specific solutions, improve public services, and foster transparency in government technology.
Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that collaboration will ensure that all Americans benefit from AI innovation.
At the same time, GSA leaders highlighted how OneGov is driving unprecedented acceleration of AI adoption across the federal government.
This marks a major step in strengthening the US position in global AI leadership.
