Canada’s role as a global AI leader took center stage at this week’s All In Canada AI Ecosystem event, where NVIDIA, Cohere, and government officials highlighted the country’s push for digital sovereignty and innovation.
Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, emphasized that the AI revolution is “the birth of the age of the entrepreneur,” urging nations to own their AI infrastructure and values rather than outsourcing them.
The event also marked the launch of Canada’s first sovereign AI factory in Rimouski, Quebec, built by TELUS with NVIDIA accelerated computing and powered by 99% renewable energy.
The facility already serves clients like OpenText while ensuring full data residency within Canadian borders.
RBC Capital Markets is also leveraging NVIDIA software to build enterprise-grade AI agents for capital markets, reflecting Canada’s growing ecosystem of public-private AI collaboration.
Together with partners like Accenture, these initiatives underscore Canada’s commitment to responsible AI development, national competitiveness, and long-term digital resilience.
