Golf champion Bryson DeChambeau, known for his scientific approach to the sport, is partnering with Google Cloud to push the boundaries of AI in athletic performance.
DeChambeau, who has won the U.S. Amateur and both the 2020 and 2024 U.S. Open titles, has built a reputation for meticulous experimentation — from applying physics to his swing to 3D-printing custom club heads.
His latest pursuit involves integrating artificial intelligence into his training, unlocking a new level of precision and adaptability.
Last year, DeChambeau began working with an AI-powered coaching tool that analyzes his biomechanics down to the smallest detail.
Now, with Google Cloud’s computing power, he aims to scale this technology further, including a smartphone-based version that could give golfers near-instant performance feedback right before teeing off.
“I’m actually making interpretations and iterating on my golf swing with the data that’s presented to me, minutes before my tee time,” DeChambeau explained.
This partnership signals a future where AI could play a central role in sports training, offering athletes real-time data to refine their performance on and off the course.
