Google has launched a major update to AI Mode in Search, giving users a new way to explore visually. Instead of typing out long queries or struggling to describe an idea, you can now search by showing or saying what you want.
Whether it’s finding the right fall jacket, hunting for bedroom décor, or exploring new design vibes, Google’s AI Mode turns vague ideas into clear visual options.
Each image result links directly to more details, making it easy to browse and refine your search naturally.
This update also changes how people shop online.
Using conversational prompts like “barrel jeans that aren’t too baggy” or “show me ankle-length options,” users get tailored product suggestions backed by Google’s massive Shopping Graph, which updates more than 2 billion listings every hour.
Built on Gemini 2.5’s multimodal capabilities and new “visual search fan-out” technology, AI Mode understands both images and context at a deeper level.
The rollout begins this week in the U.S. in English, and it’s set to transform how people search, discover, and shop in 2025.
