Threads has introduced Communities, public forums where people come together to express their unique opinions and connect over shared interests, such as basketball, TV, or K-pop.
Building on features like topic tags and personalized feeds, Threads Communities create dedicated places for conversation that enable people to more easily connect with others who share similar interests and stay involved in conversations most meaningful to them.
Each community has its own unique Like emoji to provide a sense of identity and belonging, such as a pile of books in Book Threads or a basketball icon in NBA Threads.
Communities already exist for over 100 popular topics, and joining is simple—just search for a community or tap on the tag on a post.
Threads is also launching special contributor badges and ranking options to highlight most active speakers and make users see the most relevant posts first.
These additions are making Threads an environment where deep, meaningful connections on shared interests thrive.
