IBM and Anthropic have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate enterprise software development by integrating Claude, Anthropic’s advanced AI model, into IBM’s software stack.
The partnership will combine IBM’s enterprise-grade infrastructure and governance with Claude’s accurate AI capabilities to deliver quantifiable productivity gains while having strong security and compliance in place.
The partnership starts with IBM’s new AI-first integrated development environment (IDE) to make software modernization and development cycles easier.
Initial reviews indicate that over 6,000 IBM users have achieved a 45% average productivity improvement by utilizing the new IDE.
Built for enterprise reality, it offers smart code generation, automatic refactoring, and security-driven development with embedded vulnerability scans and compliance tools.
IBM also rolled out a new guide, Architecting Secure Enterprise AI Agents with MCP, co-created with Anthropic to define the Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC) for secure enterprise AI agents.
The two companies, collectively, will spearhead the development of open standards for AI deployment and expand Claude integration across IBM’s product portfolio, shaping a safer and more powerful future for enterprise AI.
