TikTok has announced new AI-powered tools during its U.S. Creator Summit to simplify, speed up, and monetize content creation.
The most notable addition is Smart Split, an editing tool in TikTok Studio Web that automatically cuts long videos, say, podcasts or vlogs, into multiple short, vertical TikTok-ready videos.
It can reframe videos, add captions, and auto-transcribe audio, which saves creators hours in post-production and enables them to post more frequently.
Alongside Smart Split, TikTok introduced AI Outline, which generates video titles, hooks, hashtags, and six-part content outlines from prompts or trending search topics.
Creators can customize the generated scripts to their style, shoot, and upload straight away. Both of the new tools include built-in safety reviews to help guarantee consistency with TikTok’s Community Guidelines.
In addition to creation tools, TikTok announced a major expansion of its monetization platform.
The site’s Subscription feature now allows eligible creators to earn up to 90% of monthly revenue after fees.
Creators who meet criteria, including 10,000 followers, 100,000 monthly views, and at least three subscriber-only posts, can unlock an extra 20% payout bonus.
TikTok says the changes reflect its vision to empower human creativity and provide creators with more opportunities to earn income from their content.
