Pantone Partners With Microsoft To Launch AI-Powered Palette Generator

Pantone is partnering with Microsoft to introduce the Pantone Palette Generator, an AI-powered tool on Azure OpenAI that enables designers to create color palettes more quickly within the Pantone Connect platform.

The chat interface will allow users to explore thousands of Pantone colors; surface insights on trend forecasting; and, in seconds, generate concepts by asking questions such as “What colors evoke optimism in Gen Z?” or “Show me palettes inspired by 1970s fashion.”

Enabled by Retrieval-Augmented Generation, the tool semantically searches Pantone Color Institute research to generate palettes based on color psychology and global trends.

Today, the Palette Generator is available to all users in open beta and is poised to revolutionize inspiration, cut down research time, and facilitate even tighter collaboration.

Built on Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure AI Search, it scales multilingual support and integrations across platforms.

Soon, Pantone will expand its full-color library on the platform and include future Pantone Color of the Year palettes to further extend creative workflows across industries for designers.
