Samsung Unveils 6K 3D and 1,040Hz Odyssey Monitors

Samsung Electronics unveiled its 2026 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, introducing five new models that push display resolution and refresh rates.

The lineup includes what Samsung said are the world’s first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor and a 1,040Hz refresh rate display.

The new 32-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XH) features a 6K panel with glasses-free 3D enabled by real-time eye tracking. Samsung said the display adjusts depth and perspective based on viewer position and supports up to 165Hz, or 330Hz in Dual Mode.

The company said select PC games will launch with optimized 3D support.

Samsung also introduced the 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H), which the company said is the first gaming monitor to reach a 1,040Hz refresh rate when operating in HD resolution. Native QHD mode supports up to 600Hz.

The display targets competitive gaming and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility.

The Odyssey G8 series expands to three models, including 6K, 5K, and 4K QD-OLED options. Samsung said the lineup is designed to give users flexibility between resolution, speed, and contrast, with DisplayPort 2.1 support across models.

Why This Matters Today

The announcement shows how quickly gaming displays are moving beyond traditional tradeoffs between resolution and speed.

You are seeing monitor makers push into territory previously limited by bandwidth, panel technology, and GPU performance.

Samsung’s use of glasses-free 3D and extreme refresh rates signals a renewed effort to differentiate high-end monitors as gaming hardware becomes more competitive.

These features also point toward broader use cases beyond gaming, including content creation and simulation.

The timing matters as the gaming monitor market matures and competition intensifies.

According to IDC, Samsung led global gaming monitor revenue for displays above 144Hz in 2025, and the company is positioning the Odyssey lineup to defend that lead.
