Meta announced new nuclear energy agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo aimed at supplying power for its U.S. data center and AI operations.
The company said the projects will support up to 6.6 gigawatts of new and existing nuclear capacity by 2035.
The deals include financial support for three operating nuclear plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania through Vistra, extending their lifespans and increasing output.
Those facilities include the Perry and Davis-Besse plants in Ohio and the Beaver Valley plant in Pennsylvania, all of which feed power into the PJM grid.
Meta also committed funding to advanced nuclear developers TerraPower and Oklo.
TerraPower plans to build up to eight Natrium reactors, including two units targeted for delivery as early as 2032 and additional units by 2035, providing up to 2.8 GW of baseload power and 1.2 GW of energy storage.
Oklo plans to develop a nuclear campus in Pike County, Ohio, with up to 1.2 GW of capacity that could begin operating around 2030.
The company said the electricity from these projects will support facilities such as its Prometheus AI supercluster in New Albany, Ohio.
Meta stated that it pays the full cost of energy used by its data centers and that the projects will add thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of long-term operational roles.
