Anthropic has launched Claude Skills, a robust new feature that enables users to create specialized folders containing instructions, scripts, and materials for specific activities.
Skills are modular sets of expertise that Claude can automatically pre-load when relevant to boost its performance on tasks like working with Excel, following brand guidelines, or generating professional documents.
Skills are designed to be composable, portable, and efficient, stacking up together with ease and loading only the data they require per task.
They also support executable code, enabling developers to combine AI reasoning with the robustness of traditional programming.
Available across Claude apps, Claude Code, and the API, Skills enable teams to develop and share tailored capabilities across the business.
With this release, Anthropic hopes to turn Claude into not only a general assistant but a highly specific agent that has learned to fit the workflow of every individual.
