Bedrock Robotics Emerges With $80M In Funding From Investors

On July 16, 2025, Bedrock Robotics, a San Francisco-based startup founded in 2024 by former Waymo engineers, emerged from stealth with $80 million in Seed and Series A funding led by Eclipse and 8VC.

The company is developing a low-cost, retrofit autonomy kit with hardware and software that upgrades existing construction equipment, such as excavators, into fully autonomous systems.

This will enable 24/7 operation with survey-grade precision.

It is currently testing with partners like Sundt Construction across Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, and California sites, with commercial deployment planned for 2026.
