Black Forest Labs has released the FLUX.2 series, its next-generation image generation models are built with new tools that significantly enhance photorealism, consistency, and flexibility.
FLUX.2 introduces multi-reference generation, enabling artists to upload up to six references to maintain style or subject consistency without requiring custom fine-tuning.
The models also feature cleaner text rendering, multilingual support, realistic lighting, and new direct pose-control tools, all while supporting up to 4-megapixel output.
Because these models are extremely large, with 32 billion parameters and a full 90GB VRAM requirement, NVIDIA partnered with Black Forest Labs and ComfyUI to make FLUX.2 accessible to everyday creators.
Through FP8 quantization, VRAM usage is reduced by 40% while maintaining comparable quality, and performance increases by 40%.
NVIDIA also upgraded ComfyUI’s RAM offloading (weight streaming) and optimized RTX GPU performance to ensure creators can run FLUX.2 on consumer hardware, even with limited VRAM.
FLUX.2 is available directly inside ComfyUI with no special setup required, and users can download model weights from Black Forest Labs’ Hugging Face page.
With photorealistic quality, cleaner fonts, pose control, and RTX-optimized performance, FLUX.2 sets a new standard for high-end image generation, making it accessible to a broader range of artists and developers.
Key Takeaways:
- FLUX.2 introduces multi-reference generation, pose control, and 4MP photorealistic output.
- NVIDIA’s FP8 quantization cuts VRAM needs by 40% and boosts performance by 40%.
- ComfyUI updates allow VRAM offloading and deliver RTX-optimized performance.
