Cracker Barrel recently rolled out a modern, text-only logo, replacing its beloved “Old Timer” character, Uncle Herschel.
The update sparked swift backlash from customers and public figures, including Donald Trump, who said the redesign felt “woke” and out of touch.
Critics accused the chain of abandoning its nostalgic roots, dropping its stock by more than 10%. within hours of the launch.
Just two days later, Cracker Barrel reversed the decision.
The company announced it would revert to its classic logo and said it had listened to customer feedback, despite previously vowing to stay with the new design.
The move lifted shares by about 9% in after-hours trading, signaling that tradition still matters deeply to its audience.
