Figma is announcing the launch of Figma Weave, a next-generation AI-native media creation environment, powered by the company’s acquisition of Weavy.
The move extends Figma beyond interface design and prototyping into image, video, motion design, and VFX generation—directly on an open, browser-based canvas.
Rather than treating the output of an AI prompt as a finished product, Figma says Weave uses generative output in conjunction with human craft to urge creators to shape and iterate on their AI-assisted work for even higher-quality results.
Weave’s node-based workflow brings several top AI models into one interface, such as Seedance and Veo for cinematic video, Flux and Ideogram for realism, and Nano-Banana for precision, among others, while offering professional editing tools for masking, lighting adjustments, color grading, and more.
By allowing creators to branch, remix, and modify outputs, every generation can become a building block for the next.
Early adopters have leveraged the platform for architectural staging, game design assets, social marketing visuals, TV/film visual effects, and branded creative campaigns.
Led by Weavy’s founding team, which is joining Figma, the company intends to scale a dedicated AI media team in Tel Aviv and beyond, demonstrating the company’s continued push into large-scale creative production.
As Figma evolves from a design tool into a comprehensive AI-driven creative platform, this integration with Weave signals a future where designers, marketers, and developers can create, edit, and ship content seamlessly within the Figma ecosystem.
