Instagram Adds Watch History Feature For Reels Playback

Instagram has formally launched a new Watch History tool, which allows users to revisit and watch all the Reels they previously viewed, without needing to save them.

The feature is a fix for an old complaint of users who unintentionally refreshed their feed or did not save a video because they intended to replay it later.

In a recent update, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri explained that users can see the feature by going to Profile → Settings → Your Activity → Watch History.

There, you can see all Reels you’ve watched, sort them by date or creator, and even delete some clips from your history if you wish.

The feature replicates TikTok’s Watch History, but adds more flexibility, including the ability to sort videos in various ways.

Instagram defines Watch History as one of the most sought-after features, bringing its short-form video experience closer in function to that of TikTok and making the entire user experience more convenient.
