Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a major outage which disrupted access to large online platforms such as ActiveCampaign, Canva, Snapchat, and even Amazon.
AWS status dashboard reported various service interruptions due to technical issues in the US-EAST-1 Region, and international users also faced slow operation and downtime.
The company claimed that it is “investigating increased error rates and latencies” and attempting to restore full functionality.
Reddit and social media reports indicate that Alexa voice assistants are not answering and cloud apps such as Perplexity, Canva, Airtable, and McDonald’s app have also been affected.
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas has affirmed the outage, which he blames on AWS.
AWS engineers are attempting to contain the issue and identify the cause, but no timeline has been released for full recovery.
