Meta announced construction of its 30th global data center in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, a $1 billion investment designed to power the company’s expanding AI infrastructure.
The site was chosen for its access to reliable utilities and a skilled workforce, marking a key step in Meta’s mission to support global connectivity and next-generation AI systems.
The project is set to create over 1,000 construction jobs and 100 permanent operational roles, while also funding nearly $200 million in local energy infrastructure upgrades.
As part of its community commitment, Meta will donate $15 million to Alliant Energy’s Hometown Care Energy Fund to help local families cover home energy costs.
The company will also launch new community grants to fund education and technology programs across Beaver Dam.
Environmental stewardship is another central focus. The Beaver Dam campus will operate using dry-cooling technology, eliminating the need for water in daily operations and restoring all water used back into local watersheds.
Meta is partnering with Ducks Unlimited to revitalize 570 acres of nearby wetlands and prairie, supporting biodiversity and long-term ecological health.
