NVIDIA unveiled a suite of new AI models and tools at NeurIPS 2025, aimed at advancing both digital and physical AI research.
The announcements include NVIDIA DRIVE Alpamayo-R1, the world’s first open reasoning Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model for autonomous driving, as well as new speech, safety, and reinforcement learning models for digital AI.
The company emphasized openness and transparency, earning high marks on the Artificial Analysis Open Index for its Nemotron family of models and datasets.
The DRIVE Alpamayo-R1 model integrates chain-of-thought reasoning with path planning, enabling autonomous vehicles to navigate complex scenarios, such as crowded intersections and obstructed lanes, with human-like decision-making.
Researchers can customize the model for non-commercial use, benchmark it, or build experimental AV applications.
NVIDIA also released supporting tools, such as AlpaSim for evaluation and Cosmos-based frameworks for robotics, LiDAR simulation, and humanoid digital human training.
Beyond physical AI, NVIDIA introduced new digital AI capabilities, including MultiTalker Parakeet for multi-speaker speech recognition, Sortformer for real-time speaker diarization, and Nemotron models for AI safety and reinforcement learning.
These tools are designed to accelerate research in domains ranging from autonomous vehicles to large language models, with ecosystem partners such as CrowdStrike, Palantir, and ServiceNow adopting them for agentic AI applications.
