OpenAI has acquired product-testing startup Statsig in a $1.1 billion all-stock deal, marking one of its largest acquisitions to date.
Alongside the deal, OpenAI announced that Statsig founder Vijaye Raji will be Chief Technology Officer of Applications.
In this new position, Raji will oversee engineering efforts for products such as ChatGPT, Codex, and other emerging OpenAI applications.
The move signals OpenAI’s intent to strengthen its product ecosystem and accelerate the development of enterprise-facing tools.
Statsig’s expertise in product testing and data-driven decision-making is expected to boost OpenAI’s ability to refine user experiences and scale new offerings.
Raji’s leadership will focus on making OpenAI’s applications more reliable, impactful, and aligned with the company’s long-term mission to build safe, helpful AI.
