Perplexity Launches Enterprise AI For Public Safety

Perplexity announced a new offering aimed at law enforcement and public safety agencies, marking its first Enterprise Pro program designed specifically for the sector.

The company said qualifying organizations can access Perplexity Enterprise Pro at no cost for 12 months, with up to 200 seats available per agency.

The product is intended to support decision-making in policing and emergency response.

Perplexity said officers already use its tools to research case law, prepare testimony, and connect information across jurisdictions. The new program formalizes that use with enterprise controls and agency-level access.

Perplexity Enterprise Pro is designed to work across mobile and desktop environments, including patrol vehicles and command centers.

The platform supports voice input and image uploads, and responses include cited sources. Agencies can also choose between multiple AI models depending on the task.

The company said conversations and uploaded data are private by default.

Perplexity stated that it does not train models on customer data and that administrators control how information is shared within departments. Larger deployments beyond the free tier will be offered at discounted rates.

Why This Matters Today

Public safety agencies face growing pressure to process large volumes of information quickly while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

For you, this signals expanding use of enterprise AI tools in law enforcement workflows beyond pilots and informal use.

The announcement also reflects broader interest from AI companies in regulated and high-stakes environments.

By offering source-cited answers and data controls, Perplexity is positioning its product as a research and analysis tool rather than an automated decision-maker.

Our Key Takeaways:

  • Perplexity launched a public safety program offering free Enterprise Pro access to qualifying law enforcement agencies for up to 12 months.

  • The platform supports research, reporting, translation, and analysis tasks with cited sources and mobile functionality.

  • Perplexity said the product does not train on agency data and includes administrative controls for privacy and information sharing.
