Meanwhile, Comet, the AI-first browser built with privacy at its core, announced today a new set of features aimed at giving users even greater transparency and control over their personal data.
A new Privacy Snapshot widget, located on the home page, allows users to view protections, adjust tracking preferences, and manage security settings with a single click, eliminating the need to navigate through menus.
The browser also now includes reorganized Comet Assistant controls where users can block automated tasks on specific sites, toggle assistant interaction entirely, and clearly see how browsing data is used when performing AI-powered actions.
Beyond these updates, Comet continues to enforce privacy by default, blocking ads, trackers, and malicious websites while providing built-in password management and regular security updates.
The company behind it, a hybrid compute model, keeps sensitive information stored locally and only sends limited context across to Perplexity servers when users request assistant actions.
With automatic deletion of personal queries after 30 days and all privacy controls centralized, Comet aims to build trust through transparency as AI browsing becomes more mainstream.
Users can access the new Privacy Snapshot by updating to the latest version.
