Qualcomm Technologies announced its acquisition agreement with Arduino, the global leader in open-source hardware and software, in a move that will transform access to edge computing and AI innovation.
The agreement brings together Qualcomm’s advanced processors and AI technology with Arduino’s ecosystem of 33 million developers, empowering entrepreneurs, educators, and makers to bring smart ideas to life faster.
Arduino will remain an independent brand but will gain access to Qualcomm’s full tech portfolio and global capabilities.
The acquisition highlights the new Arduino UNO Q—Arduino’s initial dual-brain board built on Qualcomm’s Dragonwing™ processor—merging high-performance Linux computing with real-time microcontroller precision.
Along with it, Arduino launched App Lab, a development environment to integrate workflows for real-time OS, Linux, Python, and AI development.
Together, these technologies are designed to simplify, speed up, and democratize AI development, advancing Qualcomm’s vision to democratize intelligent computing for developers worldwide.
