Samsung Electronics announced plans to integrate Google Photos into Samsung TVs starting in 2026. The company announced the integration on December 29, 2025, in Korea.
Samsung announced that the feature will initially be available on its 2026 AI TV lineup, with support for existing models to follow through software updates.
The integration is expected to let users sign in with a Google account and view backed-up photos and videos directly on the TV.
According to Samsung, Google Photos Memories will debut first, showing curated collections organized by people, locations, and events. Samsung stated that Memories will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months after launch.
Samsung also outlined additional features scheduled for the second half of 2026.
These include AI-powered “Create” tools that utilize templates and style transformations, as well as “Personalized Results,” which will surface related photos in slideshows based on topics such as travel or activities.
Availability will vary by region and model, the company said.
Google Photos content will also connect with Samsung services such as Daily+ and Daily Board, allowing photos to appear contextually throughout the day, according to Samsung.
The company stated that its goal was to integrate photo viewing into the TV experience as an inherent part of the TV experience, rather than a separate app.
Why This Matters Today
The move signals closer integration between major consumer electronics and cloud photo services.
For you, it means that personal photo libraries stored in the cloud will be easier to view on large screens without the need for extra hardware or manual transfers.
It also shows how TV makers are expanding beyond streaming video to emphasize personal content and AI-driven organization.
Exclusive features and staggered releases indicate continued competition among platforms for software differentiation on the living-room screen.
