Stellantis Losing Hundreds Of Millions Due To Tariffs

Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, disclosed that it incurred a net loss of $2.7B in the first half of 2025, with approximately $350 million attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to its preliminary unaudited financial figures.
The 25% tariff on cars imported to the U.S., effective since April 2025, led to a 25% reduction in North American shipments and a 10% drop in total sales for the three months ending June 2025, affecting its 14 brands, including Chrysler and Dodge.
The company highlighted a $3.8 billion pre-tax net charge, including tariff-related costs and production adjustments, prompting a suspension of its 2025 financial guidance.
Stellantis is reevaluating capital spending and leveraging existing inventories to offset the impact, amid ongoing trade challenges as Trump considers further tariff increases on the European Union and Mexico.
