Telegram Crypto Wallet Is Live to All United States Users
Telegram launched its TON Wallet for U.S. users, enabling over 87 million American users to send, receive, and manage cryptocurrencies directly within the app, according to a CNBC report.
Developed by The Open Platform, the self-custodial wallet supports stablecoin transfers, token swaps, and zero-fee crypto purchases via MoonPay, with features like split-key backups tied to Telegram accounts and emails for simplified onboarding.
The rollout marks a significant expansion for TON Wallet, which saw over 100 million global activations in 2024, despite prior delays due to regulatory uncertainty.
Telegram CEO Andrew Rogozov highlighted the wallet’s aim to integrate crypto into everyday communication, positioning it as a competitor to platforms like Cash App, with partnerships ensuring compliance through licensed providers.
