Pete’s 2023 Takeaways
After being in the relationship marketing business for almost a decade, one of the best lessons that I have learned is that success is not how much money we make; it’s how well we define our purpose in life.
I had the pleasure of meeting and working with thousands of people from all walks of life, and the ones who were the happiest and the most accomplished were individuals who all had one thing in common.
Some were well off, while others were making minimum wage, working at what I would call an “average job.” I’m talking about the small gas station owner, the healthcare nurse, the school teacher, the construction worker, and even the barista working at the corner coffee shop, who seemed like she had too many espressos.
So, what was it that these folks all had in common that made them the happiest people I have ever met? They all found joy in serving others through their work!
These happy individuals always left a real impact on my life, and it was only after I discovered what true fulfillment was that I truly understood what made me successful. When I knew I was impacting other people’s lives, I experienced full satisfaction, and I felt successful in what I did. That’s what real success is to me.
As I think back to all my accomplishments in just the last 12 months alone, I was blessed to bring in Millions in business for multiple companies, achieve high ranks, and great compensation. All that was just a by-product of what really matters – the relationships I formed in the process and helping others achieve their goals gave me more satisfaction than what I personally earned.
You can earn Millions and still be miserable. Or you can be “temporarily broke” and be successful. Discovering your ‘Why’ (why you do what you do beyond the paycheck) is what will fill you with the motivation and passion you need to love every day of your life regardless of the work you are doing.
Success doesn’t begin when money starts to flow; it starts the moment you start doing what you love because you know it’s making a great difference in other people’s lives.
It’s when I lost myself in the betterment of others that I realized that I was a SUCCESS. That’s what brought me the most fulfillment, and more money showed up in abundance as a by-product.
As we head into 2024, I know I will be more successful than ever before because I’ve made a decision to reach even more people this year and focus on elevating their lives. It’s simple: The more people I help, the more successful I become. This is the most important quality that God equipped us all with.
I encourage you to start today! Do the best you can do in the work/job you currently have, and treat every person like the most important person you have ever met. Make this a habit, and life will shower you with rewards, promotions, and more money than you even expected. 🙂
