xAI, the AI company led by Elon Musk, has officially open-sourced its Grok 2 model, publicly sharing the model weights for developers and researchers.
Although it’s not a standard Apache license, anyone can download it from Hugging Face for research and customization under the Grok 2 Community License terms.
Musk also announced plans to open-source Grok 3 within roughly six months, continuing the push for openness and collaboration in the AI world.
This move comes as part of a growing trend among AI creators, like OpenAI and Meta, who are making advanced models more transparent and accessible to build better tools together.
